Collaboration for Transformation

DEFF Logo

Down East Flick Fest 2022 focuses on film as the true collaborative art form. Through our various panels and interviews, we will explore how collaboration leads to the transformation of films and filmmakers to create engaging moments, characters, and ideas that resonate with our shared humanity. In addition, DEFF develops partnerships for post and pre-festival events to satisfy the growing local indie film audience and to provide more opportunities for local and other filmmakers. DEFF aims to showcase and promote the rich diversity of filmmaking traditions in the area and to highlight the impact filmmaking can create in communities. DEFF awards encourage other storytellers to consider filmmaking, validate the talent of emerging filmmakers, and provide greater credibility to experienced filmmakers, especially those focusing on alternative ways of filmmaking and experimenting with new ideas. Films in many genres will be selected and certified as winners. However, only one film will also be recognized as The Best of the Fest and win $500 in money or prizes.  Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
